Expert Bio
Prior to joining Well Excel as a Course Writer, Jacqueline had a 30-year career in health and science across institutions in Australia and the US. After completing an undergraduate science degree in chemistry, physiology and biochemistry, she began her career as an industrial chemist. This period included positions in the oil industry, chemical manufacturing and a biotech start-up. Next came a 5-year stint as a forensic scientist during which she also taught into Australia’s first forensic science program for police. Jacqueline then spent 20 years at The University of Queensland (UQ), a global Top 50 institution, designing courses in toxicology, the chemistry of medicines and drug discovery focusing on the treatment of mental health. While working as an academic, she completed a PhD exploring learning and engagement in adult learners (and drank a lot of coffee). Jacqueline has won many awards for creating and delivering high quality education programs including a prestigious national teaching award (Australian Awards for University Teaching). In her spare time she loves nothing more than foraging for strange ingredients, performing kitchen experiments with her kids, hacking recipes, and having her nose stuck in a good book (or three).
